This is for a challenge at Hermines Place She made this beautiful background to download and create something... I have to tell you - this was a tough one! After adhering the backgound to my card it already looked finished :)) It's so beautiful! It took me a while to figure out what to add...
One thing that has been on my mind for quite some time is how the people on those cute vintage pictures would feel if they could see the artwork done with their pictures now.... surley they must be very very very old or they just missed it... What would they think about party hats, butterfly wings ect.? Some might be delighted others might just say: Why me? :))

Gorgeous!
You did a great job with Hermine's background. What you wrote has more than just occurred to me. I have even changed pieces that I did that belittled in some way the person in the photo. Since I use my own ancestors a lot I do want to be careful to honor them and not insult them. I also have wondered if someday someone may put funny hats on my picture. (I do have a small picture of my mother that I dolled up with glitter glue and such. She was a plain dresser and I wanted to see what she'd look like really dolled up.)
This is a fab card. Love the colors you added.
Absolutelty gorgeous, love what you have done with the background!! Thank you for playing.
Great earth colors....beautiful card!
Such true commentary on the ancient folk we have all adopted into our artwork in one way or another. I think we try and tell their stories through our color choices, stamped images, and added ephemera given them in the artistic process.
Your card is so endearing. I really like it a lot!

I love this piece. Your point is well taken about how we alter pictures -- what would some of them think? Especially when using photos of one's own relatives:)
